This week we are joining the Adelaide Sailing Club fleet for their long race, Somerton Yacht Club and "Glenelg Yacht Club" (Pat Boats) have also been invited.
We will launch from Henley Sailing Club and there will be an on water sign on at the Adelaide Sailing Club Committee Boat. The course will be displayed on the Henley Sailing board, and sign‑on & sign-off will be at Henley as normal.
We will be supplying a RIB to follow the fleet down, and we are looking for a couple of volunteers to crew the RIB. If you are available, please contact Marcus on 0419 830 931 (as we need to advise ASC).
Courses will be set depending on the wind conditions. Please see the outline below, and note the starting times.
Starting Sequence:
Juniors and Sabres/Herons/Mirrors –1:00pm, Cadet flag
Small boats (Finns, OKs, ILCAs, Division 2, Fireballs, Cherub, Shark, NS14 etc.) – 1:05pm, Finn flag
Big boats (trailables, VX1s, Sharpies, 505, Division 1) – 1:10pm, VX1 flag
Possible Course Options:
Southerly wind:
Big boats → Brighton Jetty
Small boats → Mark off Somerton
Northerly wind:
Big boats → Grange Jetty
Small boats → Henley mark
The course will be displayed on the back of the start boat before the first start and will also be announced on VHF Channel 71 for larger boats.
